Our Commitment

Procept is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for people with disabilities. We strive at all times to provide goods and services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of persons with disabilities. We are committed to ensuring that, persons with disabilities receive accessible goods and services of the same quality that others receive and we ensure that, to the extent possible, accessible goods and services are delivered in a timely manner. We will do so by removing and preventing barriers to accessibility and by meeting our accessibility requirements under the applicable accessibility laws.

Accessibility Policies

Customer Service

It is critical that we provide high-quality, accessible services to our clients.  Procept has been required to comply with the customer service standards under various applicable laws and regulations including section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, Section 255 of the U.S. Telecommunications Act of 1996, Ontario Human Rights Code, Ontarians with Disabilities Act of 2001, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act of 2005.

  • Assistive Devices – Persons with disabilities may bring their service animal to our public courses. We will ensure that all Procept employees and contractors dealing with the public are trained in how to interact with persons with disabilities who are accompanied by a service animal.
  • Support Persons – Any person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person will be allowed to attend our public courses with his or her support person.  We will not charge an admission fee for support persons accompanying a person with a disability. When Procept-supplied support persons are required (e.g., sign language interpreters, real-time captioners, or other attendants)  we will work to facilitate payment arrangements for support persons.
  • Communications – We will communicate with persons with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability. Our employees will communicate in a means that enables persons with disabilities to communicate effectively for purposes of requesting and attending our public or online courses. We will train staff who communicate with individuals wishing to access our services on how to interact and communicate with persons with various types of disabilities.
  • Course Materials – With enough advance notice, we will make course materials available in large print, braille, structured document, audio, or other formats. Our staff will work with clients in a respectful and inclusive manner to find a suitable solution for providing the materials in a usable format. We will not charge clients extra for the accessible version of the materials.
  • Web Site Design – We are in the process of establishing website accessibility guidelines to ensure that all our web sites are compliant with WCAG 2.0 AA.  Our existing web sites will be updated to meet these guidelines over time through the regular maintenance process. Our goal is to have all of our websites compliant by the end of 2017.

Employment

We strive to build an inclusive and accessible work environment free from discrimination and harassment. We believe that all people are entitled to a workplace that is accessible and enables them to participate fully. We uphold the rights of all employees to be treated with dignity, respect and equality.  Every employee is expected to contribute to creating and sustaining such a workplace.
