PM Paper Competition

You are here

Since its inception, Procept has been the primary sponsor and organizer behind the annual Project Management Paper Competition, hosted at the University of Toronto. Students of project management at the college or university level compete for cash and prizes by writing research papers analyzing real-world projects to capture lessons learned that can be applied to future projects. Shortlisted teams get invited to deliver a short presentation on their paper and answer questions from a panel of judges and a live audience. Teams are marked on both the content of their presentations and how well they responded to questions. Please watch the short video below for details on the competition and the judging process.

In 2015, the competition expanded to include a category for professionals working the field of project management who have been out of school for at least two years.

Since 2016, the finals for the competition were combined with the International Project Management Day celebrations in Toronto held on the first Thursday of November .

The PM Paper Competition web site contains submission guidelines, an application form, and the names/photos/videos of past winners.
