The Grown-Up Business Analyst: How the BA Profession has Evolved and Where it is Headed
by Ori Schibi

Over the past twenty years, a lot has changed for the business analyst: professional standards have been developed and then changed and changed again; the role has deepened from just a requirements-focused role to one with a broader understanding of business strategy, business cases, and stakeholder hidden agendas; and now with digital-powered business transformations, the BA is needing to understand available data sources, the governance and cleanliness of the data, and how to use the data to create new business opportunities and improve business performance. Clearly, the role is constantly evolving.

In this recorded webinar by Procept's BA Practice Lead Ori Schibi, participants will learn about the shifts in the profession, what it takes for a BA to keep up with these changes, how better integrate with organizational units, and how to deal with a role that is heavily impacted by technological, organizational, and societal shifts. Looking forward, Schibi will also identify key skills and other considerations for BAs to explore to better prepare themselves for the changes still to come.

The Voice of the Customer
by Ori Schibi

One of the most important things in any product (or service) development venture is to listen to, understand and capture the voice of the customer. Doing it is critical to how well the customer’s needs are met, and despite a multitude of methodologies, approaches, tools and techniques – many endeavours fall short of properly capturing the full set of customer needs.

This dynamic session provides a preview into the newly designed course about capturing and understanding the Voice of the Customer (VOC) in product development. The webinar provides participants insights into creating awareness of the framework and motivation needed to successfully understand customer needs, process the information, and put it to use to develop successful new products. The session will also provide an overview of the tools, templates and methods for obtaining, processing and using customer input.

Agile Business Analysis: Staying Relevant in these Busy Times
by Kevin Aguanno

Many in the agile community proclaim that they don’t need business analysts any more as agile promotes the designers and developers of solutions to work directly with client stakeholders to uncover requirements directly, cutting out the “middle man.” In fact, many claim that BA practices actually slow projects down, create excess documentation, and make projects less agile.

In this session, presented by Kevin Aguanno, agile guru and co-author of the new book “Agile Business Analysis: Enabling Continuous Improvement of Requirements, Project Scope, and Agile Project Results”, participants will learn how crucial business analysis skills are to agile project success as well as the changing role of the BA in agile delivery. He will discuss how BAs should participate in specific agile processes and give tips on how to position the BA role to agile teams.

The Role of the Agile BA
by Ori Schibi

Agile delivery methods tend to have builders of a solution working more directly with stakeholders to understand their requirements. Many in the agile community have said that they no longer need business analysts. This has understandably led to concerns in the BA community that they are becoming obsolete in an agile world.

In this new video, senior Procept consultant Ori Schibi talks about the key role that BAs can play in agile projects — if they have the right know how and attitudes.
